Use of BA Cluster by Greek biomedical group for drug discovery.
The Biomedical Research Foundation Academy of Athens has been awarded an allocation close to half a million CPU hours upon the computational cluster at Bibliotheca Alexandrina for two separate projects. Both projects carry out molecular dynamics simulations on certain proteins which could allow for a better understanding of the way some forms of cancer spread. This knowledge can then be used to design better pharmaceuticals in the fight against cancer.
