Digital Cultural Heritage Workshop May 2012
Workshop on Digital and Cultural heritage: 3D documentation, imaging technologies and knowledge repositories.
The workshop focuses on advanced technologies applied to Cultural Heritage (CH) for the preservation and dissemination of results, through education and training in information and communication technologies.
It will focus on technologies for digital data acquisition (photogrammetry, laser scanning and Polynomial Texture Mapping), the use of open-source software for data post-processing and metadata standards and knowledge management.
Theoretical aspects will be complemented with field-work activities at archaeological sites.
Professionals from CH institutions (cultural foundations, museums), young researcher and students are invited to submit their application to attend the workshop. A limited number of bursary are available.

The workshop is organised by The Cyprus Institute within the framework of the LinkSCEEM-2 project, in collaboration with:
- Cyprus Department of Antiquities
- Informatics Research Institute - Mubarak City for Scientific Research, Egypt
- Fraunhofer‐Institut für Graphische Datenverarbeitung IGD, Germany
- Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – ITABC, Rome, Italy

The school will be held at the Cyprus Institute, Guy Ourisson Building.

Language: English (materials will be published in English)
Registration Fee: 250 Euros

A number of competitive funded fellowships are available for this workshop. 15 fellowships will cover the workshop attendance fee cost and will also provide financial contribution to flights and accommodation costs. Further fellowships will only cover the workshop attendance fee cost.
The organizing committee will prioritize regional students and young researchers in a field related to Cultural Heritage.
