Second LinkSCEEM General User Meeting June 2012

The LinkSCEEM-2 FP7 project is organising a 3-day general user meeting, during June 25-27, 2012 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The General User Meeting is part of the LinkSCEEM-2 project training activities aiming to prepare the Eastern Mediterranean scientific community for the use of HPC systems.

The meeting targets young researchers from the region and will address programming training needs of current and prospective HPC users both from Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

During the event, researchers and students will be instructed on topics such as distributed and parallel programming paradigms, with a focus on OpenMP and OpenACC programming skills and concepts. The agenda will contain theoretical sessions followed by hands-on training to enable deep understanding of the programming concepts covered and their application on modern HPC resources. Trainees will be given access to HPC systems of the Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC) where they will be able carry out the hands-on exercises and practise what they have learned.
