Virtual Heritage School on Digital Cultural Heritage (3D documentation, knowledge repositories and creative industries), 27-30 May 2013
LinkSCEEM-2, V-Must, ARCLAND, 3D-Icons and Linked Heritage EU funded projects are co-organising a 4-day workshop, during May 27-30, 2013 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The workshop is part of the LinkSCEEM-2 project training activities.
The workshop focuses on advanced technologies applied to Cultural Heritage (CH) research, in particular digital data acquisition (photogrammetry, laser scanning and Structure-from-Motion), the use of open-source software for data post-processing, metadata standards, knowledge repositories and creative industries. Theoretical aspects will be complemented with fieldwork activities at archaeological sites. Professionals from CH institutions (cultural foundations, museums), young researchers and students are invited to submit their application to attend the workshop. A limited number of fellowships are available.
The workshop is organized by The Cyprus Institute in collaboration with:
• Cyprus Department of Antiquities
• Fraunhofer-Institut für Graphische Datenverarbeitung IGD, Germany
• Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy
• Forth-Hellas, Greece
• West University, Romania
The workshop will be held at the Cyprus Institute, Guy Ourisson Building.

There is a number of funded competitive fellowships (contributing to flights and accommodation costs) available to attend the workshop.
Fellowships will be awarded to suitable candidates who:
- Are involved in Digital cultural heritage projects or studies.
- Identify how attending the workshop can help them in their future work.
