There is a small number of remaining posts available to attend a 3-day workshop starting on February 6th 2012, at the Cyprus Institute, with hands-on guidance for participants in preparing their project for HPC usage. Beginning in January 2012, the resources of the LinkSCEEM-2 project will be enhanced by the Cy-Tera GPU-accelerated HPC system, capable of ~35 TFlops/s peak performance, making this a golden opportunity to prepare to use this resource.
The Advanced HPC Workshop in Cyprus will focus on areas directly relevant to the applicants interests and address topics such as:
- General material relating to the LinkSCEEM-2 systems
- Parallel training sessions in selected areas targeted to the participants interests.
Initial suggestions include:
- Computational fluid dynamics (featured software: OpenFOAM)
- Graph partitioning (featured software: metis/parmetis)
- Kernel development for application porting (featured software: CUDA / OpenCL)
- Molecular Dynamics (featured software: GROMACS)
- Computational Biology & Bioinformatics (MrBayes & RAxML)
Priority will be given to suitable candidates who:
- wish to implement a specific scientific project, and
- can highlight how the HPC resources of LinkSCEEM and/or Cy-Tera can help them achieve their goals.
The short application form for these fellowships can be found at the following link, please fill-in by latest 28/12/2011.
